Mighty Sparrow Dies Aged 91
My late zaid met him once, I think, and loved his music. He would sing Mighty Sparrow songs in a faithful accent some would call problematic but which was full of love.
I didn’t know the Mighty Sparrow’s birth name was Slinger Francisco. Reminds me that Dr. John’s birth name was Mac Rebennack. They were both such big personalities, they each needed two great names to contain themselves.
