Thanks for your work on this blog – I enjoy it. I bought the Charles Wright Express Yourself album – a new issue with a bunch of extras (“Loveland” is the best of the extras, I think), and absolutely love it – it lifts my spirits greatly and gets our whole family dancing. I don’t think I would have discovered Charles Wright & Co. without your post!

I absolutely loved Coraline, and have seen it twice. I actually had a dream about the other mother trying to sew buttons into my eyes. *Covers eyes*
Now my friend and I tilt our head sideways at random times because of that movie. :)

Have you ever heard of M. Ward? I think that you might like him… my favorite album of his is called Post War.

I love reading your posts and hearing the voice of a cool almost 13 year old.
You reference things an almost 50 year old (that would be me) would. I enjoy that you reference The Edgar Winter Group and Liam Finn in one posting, very cool. I’m dying to see Coraline—maybe Leah and I will go on Friday. As for demonic sketelon-women popping up and sewing buttons in your eyes, have you seen your mother after all her Lifetime workouts?

I wanna go to L. Woods, you’re so lucky. We just ate at El Cholo. Did you hear that at least one of your new first cousins is a BOY? The other one is of indeterminate gender. Let’s hope that gets resolved soon…

Coraline was AWESOME, for once Dakota Fanning’s voice didn’t make me plug my ears. Am I the only one that forgot the 3-D part was just an illusion and kept trying to reach for the little dogs?
Coraline came out too late to be part of the recent Oscars but I hope it gets a nomination next year. I loved the mix of adult themes and kids themes, it was a little Alice in Wonderland too. Agree about the difference between hoping and wishing.
Not so fast there about the hipster thing, I’m listening to a playlist of Mika, Radiohead and Bjork right now. Hey now!
