Why Do You Harmonize With Your Toothbrush?
This was supposed to be posted yesterday….
Why do you harmonize with your toothbrush?
Is what my brother said last night as I was humming along with the buzz of my Sonicare toothbrush. “I dunno. I’m a musical guy,” I said. The toothbrush was tender on my gums–I had just lost a baby tooth (yes I still have some left). We finished brushing and went to say goodbye to my star-blogger uncle, Danny Miller. He was visiting Chicago for a four-day dental treatment. Bloggers alike, he too had lost a tooth.
I woke up to what was expected to be a morning Rayman Wii game party with my brother, but instead I worked on social studies homework, and then practiced my Bar-Mitzvah training. The status: Aliyahs 1-3 chanted, before and after Torah/Haftorah chanted. Its a work in progress.
Today is our neighbor’s birthday! His name is Noah, also known as Baby Noah. Joey, my brother’s best friend and former Ask An Eight Year Old consultant, is Noah’s uncle. Can you believe there are nine-year-old uncles? Anyway, we went to his birthday party today. It was like a usual one-year-old’s birthday: more for the adults than the actual kid. But it was still a lot of fun. The cake had a big monkey face on it and was literally four times the size of Noah’s head. It was supposed to serve at least thirty people! So of course, everybody brought home a slice or two. Yum.
When we got home I eagerly retired to a couch and the Suite Life of Zack And Cody, waiting for Father & Son (now Marcello’s) to deliver. Its about 2:00 in New Zealand, so there I would probably be at either the beach or the studio. I miss it there a lot, but its good to be home, back in the snow. Today was actually the first time I really got to play in the snow, because when we first got back to Chicago it had melted already. But luckily, yesterday’s storm gave us a fresh blanket! Wintery Chicago without snow makes it look empty and unforgiving. Especially when you look up and see the zillions of telephone wires, it makes me feel cynical. But snow is there to save the day!

Sorry for the lack of posts. I’m a cyclical writer, meaning I go through “productivity phases.” Sometimes I’ll be able to pump out ten posts in an hour, other times I won’t write for days or weeks because mah brain isn’t working. My apologies.
