Winter Break Trip Prep
Hi everybody. Here’s a little update on my trip to New York and New Zealand. As of today, we’re still in the packing stage. Give me feedback in the comments or email, let me know if you want more stories about the trip! Thanks, and enjoy.
Day 1
I’ve spent a lot of time today packing. All kinds of things (homework, blogging schedule) have to be worked out. Trying to stuff all of my books/school work into my bags has been a challenge, and I’m yet to figure out which suitcase I’m bringing. God, is packing stressful! Well, it’ll all pay off, basking in the sun of New Zealand, Neil Young in New York… I can’t wait. Hopefully everything will come together soon.
Somebody told me today that New Zealand is home to some of the world’s greatest hiking spots. Is this true? I would imagine so, considering the pristine nature of the country. I’ll find out soon!
Day 2
After being frustrated by mounds upon mounds (okay, that’s an exaggeration) of hardcover books, I have decided to cut down immensely, only bringing the necessities (and a little bit more). My current read is Brisingr (Christopher Paolini) but I’m almost done, so I’ve packed a new book, Little Brother (Neil Gaiman), along with my school-assigned book, Red Necklace (Sally Gardner). Today, I also finished all but my reading homework, a huge relief.
I’m bringing three cameras on this trip: My Sanyo, Leica, and Canon. The Sanyo offers great video and stills and is capable of going underwater. My Leica is the nicest camera I own. Its a hand-me-down from my dad, but its still in perfect condition. And lastly, my Canon is the first digital camera I ever owned. I got it on my ninth birthday and since then I’ve made dozens of stopmotion video and a lot of memories. Sorry if I sound like a snob, I’m bringing three cameras…
