Yaakov’s nubian bling explosion
This post has been a draft since midnight last night so any time-specific lines right here have been changed like three times.. Instead I’m just going to say HAY HERE ARE SOME PICTURES AND PARAGRAPHS.
(WARNING: obnoxious colors)
I spent an hour Thursday taking pictures of this clay. Some of them are really cool but for the most part I now have 100+ photos of this in the same position.
This one reminds me of a sculpture somewhere in our house with people in like a tribal circle.
Recently I’ve embraced some Picnik editing. I have a half-supportable opinion on digital photographs and manipulation that I’ve talked about before.. but I’m learning and just having fun right now. I think there’s a type of artful photography that goes well with editing, like.. where a picture is a sculpture, and you’re molding it with your computer? It’s similar to how I think about electronic music and that type of stuff. Using excessive Lomo-ish and Cross Process effects on picnik ain’t gonna hurt nobody, though (except maybe in this case your eyes). Your opinion?
Cliques.
Oh oh oh I finished reading Grapes of Wrath. It was an amazing amazing epic of a book that I will reread in high school or something when I won’t rush through parts to finish homework and consequentially not get to fully expeerience its golden nuggets. By golden nuggets I think I mean wisdom or intensely great metaphors, like the gila monster one with Jim Casy? Yah? I had lots of favorite parts; one in particular really stuck with me. It starts describing the journey of seeds and weeds on animal fur and through the wind and stuff. I just remember it being really beautiful. But that book is really beautiful.
My class tried to watch the movie last week but didn’t have enough time to finish it. As usual with a book-movie they left out some pretty good parts, but I think it was okay. The actors did not match my imagination at all!
In the introduction Robert DeMott quotes John Steinbeck from some interviews that clearly outline his eccentricity and mandatory-for-the-greats recognition-of-inability.
Now I want Chrismikah and snow to come so I can feel like Chrismikah and snow is here. I also want to make a new blog design.. last year around this time I changed it up and I want to do that again. I like the paper-ish feeling of this one, but a white background for content (and some other stuff) would be really nice.
Maybe a new iPhone Track later!
