where the wild springs are

Oct 17, 2009

Here are the first answers! I was really surprised at how many people submitted. I’m still deciding whether the answers should go here or on a tumblr or something. Also, suggestions on if this is cool or lamesauce are great. Thank you.

I do not really know what it is i am typing in this box?

Neither do I brotha.

GIRAFFE. and i don’t like salmon.

Aha YOU’RE SO SPONTANEOUS! Yes you do like salmon. I’ll tell your mother.

pumpkin flavored things are one of the best things about the ‘holiday’ season

Agreed.

Something

Clever!

Hello!

Hiya.

I’ve never read “Where The Wild Things Are”, but I hear it’s great.

It is great! One of the best children’s books of the century ever.

Hello Joe.  How is the weather today?

Pretty good, I guess. It’s sorta gray out.

[say something] like what?

Um your pick.

Hey there, all nice things should happen on Saturday.

Alright. My dad came home today and brought with him a forty pound bag of candy from Texas.. That’s pretty nice.

Do you and Tavi go to the same school?

No, unfortunately. That would be so awesome.

The smell of candles burning inside of pumpkins on a cool autumn Halloween is a scent that brings one back to being young and memories of the old neighborhood

Hmm yeah. Fake grandma? :)

I wonder why we do the things that we do and why is it that when we are sad, our sadness has such variations and we all have unique ways of talking about that sadness

I think that kinda follows along with that one notion that questions what a certain color looks like to another person. It’s like every person has a different way of seeing things and thinking about things and just about everythings, one of those things being expressing feelings – like sadness. Also, I think we all wonder.

what what?

What?

Greetings from Milwaukee! It’s a great day to be alive, for sure!

Yay!

why aren’t americans angrier at the people who have destroyed our economy?

Because I don’t think most Americans even know who destroyed our economy, including themselves.

where are my keys?

Hahaha I have no idea. If this is my teacher Lincoln has them.

This could be a lot of fun. Maybe you could post your favorite submissions once or twice a week? Or every post if you want :-D

And if someone breaks your rule, publicly scorn them so then everybody knows… X-D

Ok, that bag of candy your dad brought home, you need to watch it. If your mom is like all the other mothers out there, she’ll try and get rid of that candy. If I was a betting lady, I would say your mom is going to try and give it away for Halloween. So you and Sammy need to guard that candy. I would if I were you, but then again, I have a massive sweet tooth; you’re probably not greedy like I am and you don’t really need 40 pounds of candy. (who does?)

You should post some of your favorites every post or so. And a suggestion is to add something to your side bar thangy thang that has a link to the formspring page. Or even a box would be nice so that you could type your question/comment/interpretive dance directly into it.

Could be hard work if the questions keep on coming in like in the first 24h. But if you ever had a writer’s block, it surely won’t happen again ;)
I like how many different aspects have already been covered:
philosophy (“i wonder why we do things…”)
politics (“why aren’t americans angrier…”)
nostalgia (“the smell of candles…”)
practical things (“where are my keys”)
depth psychology (“what what?”)

Hey Spencer Tweedy!

I am watching the Barret – Jackson auctions and it looks like you are standing next to the auctioneer. Is it you? Congrats on being on that 18 under 18 list deal, and your Bar Mitzvah.

Hey there! My question on “I wonder why we do the things that we do and why is it that when we are sad, our sadness has such variations and we all have unique ways of talking about that sadness” came out yoz!! that’s happening. And i totally get cha.
ok random: I suggested to the one of the actors in this real-life docurama movie called Donkey In Lahore, the song ‘Impossible Germany’ by Wilco. It was a while back (the recommendation i mean). man, love that song, and methinks u’d love the movie too.
