Speaking of writing… there’s a book all serious (and non-serious) writers should read. It’s called the Elements of Style, and I’m pretty sure every great author has/had read at one point or another. It’s a great book and it’s definitely considered a classic. I’m yet to finish (or start) it, but it IS in my “to read” pile. Check it out!

Hey Spencer – I recommend reading Orwell’s full essay “Politics and the English Language”

And did you know that White was the author of Charlotte’s Web and Stuart Little? Whether you enjoy his writing or not, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft is an autobiography and writing guide by Stephen King. About it, Roger Ebert had written, “After finding that his book On Writing …had more useful and observant things to say about the craft than any book since Strunk and White’s The Elements of Style, I have gotten over my own snobbery.”
